Deskripsi
A river cruise through ancient desert lands will be an adventure in itself, think Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Ann, and Jack. An adventure it certainly is, especially when Bill disappears and the children, along with Kiki the parrot, are trapped beneath a forgotten temple where no one has set foot for 7,000 years.
This time the children cruise a river with Bill and their mother, who are kidnapped by a tomb robber. The children, while following in a boat barely miss being swept into a cataract, and end up trapped inside a cave. While looking for a way out, they find an undisturbed tomb, but the tomb robber is close on their heels, and intends to take them captive. A fascinating setting for adventure makes this one of the best stories in the series.
As a child I walked every week to the library to pick up Enid Blyton books. Her books were going so fast that I had to be there when the library opened and then there was still a limit how many books I could take home. I read the adventure series and the famous five series over and over. When my kids were old enough I ordered Enid Blyton books over the internet in India and read them to my kids over and over, then my kids read those books over and over. The concept of children living through adventures and taking care of themselves without much adult help was fascinating in my childhood and even more today.
