A Doll's House

On the surface, Nora Helmer has it all: a cozy home, a promotion for her husband Torvald, and three beautiful children. To her husband, she is his "little lark"-a playful, carefree woman who doesn't have a worry in the world. But Nora is hiding a dark secret: years ago, she committed a desperate act of forgery to save Torvald's life, and she has been secretly working to pay off the debt ever since. When a disgruntled man from her past threatens to reveal the truth, Nora's "perfect" world begins to crack. As the clock ticks toward Christmas, Nora realizes that her marriage and her home are just a beautifully decorated cage, and she must decide if she is willing to stay a doll" or finally become her own person. It is a powerful, revolutionary story about identity, money, and the courage it takes to walk out the door and start over.
